First off, thanks for mentioning my comment! I’m really glad you liked it! 🙂 As for an idea for a contest, you could give us a free video lesson, we would teach our dogs the trick, submit a video of our dog doing the trick, and the first three submissions of someone successfully doing the trick with their dog win the prizes! It doesn’t have to be exactly like that, but a contest that has to do with teaching our dogs tricks would not only be really fun, but would encourage people to teach their dogs tricks!

    • Jean Cote says:

I like the idea of a dog trick contest. Thank you for your suggestion. 🙂

  • Linda Harms says:

I would love a contest where each person tells us about something that is unique about their dog as an individual. When I talk to other dog lovers we usually talk about commonalities and similar experiences. I’d love to hear about each dogs “pawprint”:)

    • Jean Cote says:

That’s a great idea! Every dog is unique in their own way. 🙂

  • Julie says:

I like both the first 2 ideas. 1 to teach & submit video of trick or something unique about your dog.

  • congrats to the winners!

looks like a fantastic tug toy!!

I think contests are fun, to play and/or win.
Especially when it means we get more videos from you. *S*

    • Jean Cote says:

Thank you Monica, I will be doing more videos in the coming weeks. 🙂

  • Lucy says:

Bravo JF tu fais vraiment du bon travail…

    • Jean Cote says:

Merci! For those wondering what that means, it says I did a good job in French. 🙂

  • Elizabeth Davis says:

Jean I think you are wonderful person. Any person who has the love of dogs the way you do deserves to be commended. I enjoy reading, watching your videos and applying these tips to my two dogs. It would be nice if you were to offer another contest. Congratulations to the winners of this contest.

    • Jean Cote says:

Thank you for the kind words Elizabeth. 🙂 Sometimes it feels like I’m writing into empty space but then I get the feedback from the people I help, and it makes it all worthwhile. 🙂

  • Karen Winter says:

Thanks Jean for the opportunity to enter your contest and for the free trick video we are going to receive. All ideas suggested so far for future contests are great. I cant wait to see what you have planned for us next. Congratulations to the lucky winners of this competition.

    • Jean Cote says:

Thank you Karen for entering the contest. It’s actually lots of fun to do and to read all of the awesome comments. I’ll be in touch with another contest soon. 🙂

  • Megan Hanley says:

Love the idea of a trick contest! It would help motivate people to spend extra time with their dogs and even if you didn’t win the contest, you would still have had the time spent with your dog and you’d have a new trick learned!

    • Jean Cote says:

I love the trick idea. I’ll have to put my creative hat on and come up with some original tricks for the contest. 🙂

  • Sandy says:

Submit funniest dog video or photo. The one that makes you laugh out loud wins! Just for fun. You win bragging rights.

    • Jean Cote says:

How about a story? Do you think that would be interesting? I have so many stories of my dogs as puppies doing naughty (and hilarious) things … but I don’t have a photo/video of them.

  • Julie Rodger says:

Wow! We got our tug toy in the mail this week and it is AWESOME!! It’s the first tug toy I’ve had that really leaves my Husky wanting more! Thank you so much for this great prize =)

    • Jean Cote says:

You are welcome Julie. That’s why I wanted to give them away, because they are awesome toys. 🙂

  • Marianne Cottee says:

    Hi Jean
I’d love to do the weaving with my Husky/Malamute Chester but he’s too tall for my 30″ legs! Any suggestions?
    He can sit stand down (from a reading card);
Fetch and drop a thrown ball into my hand.
    He can spin right & left; walk to heel on both sides and sit when I stop; also ‘switch’ sides via front or back from sitting;
Can go to bed and stay.
    Says ‘woof’ for please;
Fetch all his toys off the floor and put them into a bowl or small bin.
(All the above thanks to your training site).
Can stand on a box and rotate – fully on or on front feet around the box.
Need more but weaving is difficult because of his size! 42 kg & 21 months old.
    Help! Maz

    • Jean Cote says:

You could technically get him to crawl through your legs… 🙂 It wouldn’t be too difficult with a training stick.

  • Marianne Cottee says:

    Ok. I’ll try that! Thanks.

  • Marianne Cottee says:

    Jean
My huskt/malamute can ‘down’ perfectly. Getting him to crawl (to go through my legs) is proving a challenge…
    How????
    Maz

    • Jean Cote says:

The easiest way is with a target stick, so that you train your dog to touch it with his nose, and you work the criteria up until your dog has to crawl in order to receive the reinforcement. 🙂 I may do a video about this in the future if there is enough interest.
